| Notes | Français : État avant 1952 de l'Hôtel de ville de Saint-Étienne (1821, architectes Pierre-Antoine et Jean-Michel Dalgabio) surmonté du dôme (1858/64?, Étienne Boisson architecte) pour lequel le statuaire stéphanois Étienne Montagny (1816-1895) réalise les deux cariatides allégoriques Le Matin et Le Soir (avant 1868 [1]) qui sont visibles de part et d'autre de l'horloge. Le dôme, endommagé par un incendie (1952) est démoli en 1953 [2]. Les statues allégoriques perceptibles de part et d'autre des marches du perron, également dues à Étienne Montagny et intitulées La Métallurgie (érigée en 1870) et La Rubanerie (érigée en 1872) sont toujours en place (en 2022). |
