Summary

Description	English: Zygmunt's Column in front of burned-out Royal Castle in Warsaw. Photo taken after the castle was damaged by Nazis in September 1939 but before Warsaw Uprising in August 1944 when both the Column and the Castle were totally destroyed. Notice street scene on the bottom of the image. Polski: Kolumna Zygmunta na tle wypalonego Zamku Królewskiego w Warszawie. Zdięcie zrobione po zdobyciu Warszawy przez hitlerowców we wrześniu 1939 roku, ale przed powstaniem warszawskim w sierpniu 1944, kiedy zarówno Kolumna, jak i Zamek zostały zrównane z ziemią. Na dole zdjęcia widać fragment sceny z życia miasta.

On the back of the print someone wrote "20" in pencil ans someone else wrote "24" in pen.
