Summary
| Description | Photo taken in June, 1964. Steve Harvey, of the Harvey Flying Service in Kodiak, writes about this aircraft: "In March of '64 when we had the earth quake and tidal wave 83V was down in the lower 48 for a complete overhaul. They brought it back up to Kodiak shortly after that. I remember how clean and new it looked, inside and out." Also from Steve Harvey: "A few of the Kodiak City fathers decided, in the late fifties, that Kodiak needed a landing strip for wheel planes, so they all pooled their resources and built one. It was dedicated and open for use in May 1961. Today, it is still called Kodiak Municipal." The pilot was either Gil Jaravilla or Bob Leonard. |
