File:Kings Hall Herne Bay 007.jpg

Original file(3,288 × 2,060 pixels, file size: 2.82 MB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Description

Postcard photograph of the King's Hall, Herne Bay, Kent, England. Undated and un-postmarked. It was called the Pavilion or Bandstand before it was extended underground and re-named in 1913. The costumes and style of postcard suggest a date before 1914, and the printed name, "Bandstand" implies a date before 1913 when it was re-named the King Edward VII Memorial Hall. Published by Photochrom.

Points of interest
  • There is a band playing in the bandstand.
  • The bandstand no longer exists on top of King's Hall.
  • There is a Victorian-style perambulator among the crowd.
  • The third Herne Bay Pier (now mostly gone) can be seen in the background.
