DescriptionKapel ter Ruste - panel exposing the Plaza Mayor of Montblanc around 1640.jpg
English: This polychrome panel is found as an alcove in the southern inner-side-wall of the chapel 'Kapel ter Ruste' in Deerlijk. It shows the Plaza Mayor of Montblanc, Tarragona, around 1640. One can see the Sant Miquel church, the Casal dels Desclergue, Cal Malet and also the trees which, today, still provide shade during hot summers. This concerns a view taken from the side of the current town hall. The figurines are Santa Felipa and St. Jerome (Eusebius Hieronymus). The latter is shown with the face of Hernan Cortes, related to the Desclergues and is a figurative representation of Don Jeroni Desclergue y Cortes from Montblanc, who died in Ostend in 1604 during the Eighty Year War.
