English: Frontispiece of John Essex's treatise on choreography and the art of dancing country dances, published 1710 in London entitled For the Further Improvement of Dancing. The first English exposition of a dance notation it was translated from the French work Recueil de contredances mises en chorégraphie by Raoul-Auger Feuillet, of 1659 or 60.
