Summary

Description
English: The parish rooms of Holy Trinity Church, Micklegate.
This was originally a medieval private house, then an alms house, then an inn. In the early 19th century, the then owner added a third story to increase the number of rooms in the inn. The weight of this third story put a lot of strain on the timber frame of the original two-storey building. When the church bought the building in the early 20th century, the third storey was removed and the original structure restored at great expense.
