"Swimming: Titleholders of national prominence, Washington women natators have every right to be proud of themselves this year. Entering the telegraphic swimming meet held at the University of Montana, they vaulted from eighth place to first, breaking three all-time Western and one National record. Stars of the even were Betty Lea, Jean Kolinski, and Irma Schoennauer."
