Description
Nederlands: Vlaanderen behoort tot de regio’s van Europa waar de open ruimte het snelst verdwijnt. Daarom besloot minister van Omgeving, Joke Schauvliege (CD&V), in 2015 dat er tegen 2040 geen open ruimte meer verloren mag gaan. Maar uit berekeningen van onderzoekers blijkt dat in 2017 het gemiddelde bijkomende ruimtebeslag sterk is toegenomen. Van 5,19 hectare per dag in 2015 naar 7,33 hectare per dag in 2017. “Deze opmerkelijke toename is zeer verontrustend. Het wordt dus steeds onwaarschijnlijker dat de doelstelling van maximaal 3 hectare per dag in 2025 gehaald wordt”, zegt Ingrid Pira (Groen).
