English: ASHA – Alliance for Sustainable and Holistic Agriculture invited farmers across Maharashtra for a Silent March with Freedom Fighters against Corporate Control of Agriculture on Quit India Day, August 9 which had been attended by consumers & farmers.
Dr. G.G. Parikh amongst other eminent Freedom Fighters had lead the peace
march from Lokmanya Tilak statue at Girgaon Chowpatty and ended at
August Kranti Maidan.
At August Kranti Maidan, after paying homage to the martyrs who fought for our
freedom, Dr. G.G.Parikh, Ramesh Shanware - representing farmers from
Vidharbha shared their perspectives on seeds, right to safe food and freedom from corporate control in order that everyone can enjoy the Independence, for which Freedom Fighters fought for.
Later some farmers visited Gateway of India to create further awareness among urban consumer.
