English: Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIC in the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center , Washington DC. The Hawker Hurricane is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was designed and predominantly built by Hawker Aircraft Ltd. Together with the Spitfire, the Hurricane was significant in enabling the Royal Air Force (RAF) to win the Battle of Britain of 1940, accounting for the majority of the RAF's air victories.

Die Hawker Hurricane war ein britisches Jagdflugzeug aus der Zeit des Zweiten Weltkriegs.

Als im Sommer und Herbst 1940 die Luftschlacht um England über Südengland tobte, waren es die Jagdflieger der Royal Air Force (RAF), die verbissen gegen den Ansturm der deutschen Luftwaffe kämpften. Zu zwei Drittel flogen die jungen Piloten die Hawker Hurricane, die vielleicht zu Unrecht im Schatten der Supermarine Spitfire stand. So gingen auch die meisten Abschüsse auf das Konto der robusten und zuverlässigen Hurricane.
