Portrait of Oran “Tony” McPherson who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in 1921 as the Member for Little Bow and representative of the United Farmers of Alberta.
He was elected Speaker in 1922 and served in that capacity until 1926. He was the Speaker to have attended university and the first to exercise the casting vote.
