Description Homer Plessy is interred in this crypt in St. Louis Cemetary #1 in New Orleans, LA. He challenged the segregation of the races on railroad trains in the suit "Plessy v. Ferguson". This is the decision that caused "separate but equal" to be the law of the land for 58 years.
