DescriptionHindu and Muslim scholars discuss the Mahabharata.jpg
English: Hindu and Muslim scholars discuss the Mahabharata, by Dhanu 1598-1599.
The Razmnama or "the book of war '
A manuscript from 1598 to 1599.
It is made in India.
It was written in Persian at the request of
the Mughal Emperor Akbar (reign 1556-1605).
Persian was at that time the official court language.
The Razmnama is a translation (a brief translation)
the Mahabharata.
So the fact that the text is in Persian says nothing
about the content.
The content has nothing to do with Persia but concerns
one of the fundamental texts of Hinduism.
