English: Hemileccinum rubropunctum photographed in Bel Air, Maryland. Not bluing, but darkening slightly on the pore surface. Mild odor, unpleasant, like an old ash tray. Taste a bit sour and unpleasant. Under maple, alder and walnut or hickory. Darkening in KOH. ID confirmed by ITS DNA barcoding. https://mushroomobserver.org/525530
