DescriptionHalifax NS-01242 - Old Town Clock (28446750335).jpg
English: In 1800 Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, was preparing to return to England. Obsessed with punctuality, the Commander-in-Chief of the British military made this clock a parting gift. This was to ensure the city's military forces were always on time.
The Old Town Clock was installed in October 1803. The Town Clock is one of the most recognizable landmarks in historic Halifax. It is on the hill below the Halifax Citadel. The original clockworks are still intact and in use.
