Summary

Description The Canadian frigate HMCS Vancouver (FFH 331) patrols off the coast of Australia with a U.S. Navy SH-60B Seahawk helicopter on board. The crew from the HSL-51 aircraft were practicing landing on the Canadian frigate during exercise "Tandem Thrust". Exercise "Tandem Thrust 2001" was a combined United States and Australian military training exercise. This biennial exercise is being held in the vicinity of Shoalwater Bay Training Area, Queensland, Australia. Morethan 27,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines were participating, with Canadian units taking part as opposing forces.
