Summary

Description
English: Carl Hilmar Guenther (Günther), a German immigrant to Texas, constructed his first flour mill near Fredericksburg in 1851. He moved his business to San Antonio in 1859 where he built mills along the San Antonio River. In 1922, this towering grain elevator was constructed and it has become a well-recognized landmark in San Antonio.
