Summary

Description
English: An interview with bandleader George Olsen (right) in 1926 at NBC's flagship radio station WJZ in New York City. The microphone is a Western Electric double button microphone, very widely used for broadcasting and recording in the 1920s. It was sometimes called a "ring and spring" microphone because the microphone unit is suspended by springs in the center of a steel ring to prevent vibrations of the stand from being conducted to the element.
