Original file(1,584 × 1,009 pixels, file size: 416 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Summary

Description San Francisco Muni's former Geneva Car Barn, from its northeast corner, on September 19, 1982, which was the last day that streetcars operated in service from it. It stored some PCC cars for about two months more, before it was demolished in January 1983 – leaving only the office building and power house at the corner of San Jose & Geneva Avenues still standing. The office building is at the far end of this view, is still standing in the 21st century and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A new maintenance facility, Cameron Beach Yard, was built on the site of the Geneva Car Barn.
