Summary
| Description |
English: General Wladyslav Sikorski, (1881-1943) This fine bust stands in the grounds of St. Andrews Museum. General Sikorski was commander in chief of the Free Polish forces during WWII and premier of the Polish government in exile in London from June 1940. He was killed in mysterious circumstances whilst flying from Gibraltar to London in July 1943.
A recent inquiry into the circumstances of his death failed to throw any further light on the matter. |
