Description

Tinted postcard of the Church of Dane Park, Cliftonville, Margate, Kent, England. The photographer is G R Palmer of Margate. He may be related to the Devon photographic family of William Eastman Palmer & Sons. The quality and style of photograph indicate a date of 1920-1939.

Points of interest
  • The arm and shoulder of the gardener on the left show the kind of shirt and waistcoat that was worn by workmen before 1939.
  • In the centre of the image, between lawn and trees, is an object that could be a person on a bicycle, but it has been mostly hidden by the colour-work.
