Description Tinted postcard photo of the Fremont Hotel, Los Angeles, in 1906. The hotel was closed in the 1940s and the building razed in 1955.
Date Dated July 25, 1906 on front of card by sender. Before 1907, one side of a postcard had to carry only the recipient's name & address; there could be no message written with it. Beginning in 1907, the US Post Office permitted divided back cards were the recipient's name and address could be written with a short message on the back. Prior to this, messages had to be written somewhere on the front of the card.
