December 12, 2010. The Israeli aid delegation, compromised of personnel from the IDF and the Ministry of Defense, departs for Colombia. The aid delegation consists of approximately 50 tons of equipment, including 20 tons of dry foodstuffs, 2,000 blankets, 1,000 coats, 1,000 mattresses, 100 tents and 5,000 medical kits. Commander of Home Front Command’s National Search and Rescue Unit, Brig. Gen. (Res.) Shalom Ben-Arye, said: “The IDF instructed the Home Front Command to send a humanitarian aid delegation to the Colombian flood victims. We are to land in Colombia, distribute the aid and return only once our mission is completed.” Deputy General Manager of the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Bezalel Treiber, said: “Over the past two days there has been a rapid deployment, including approximately 50 tons of equipment. The delegation will now set out for Colombia. I wish to thank the delegation staff, the Home Front Command and the Ministry of Defense and wish them luck on their mission.” For more details, see the IDF blog. היום (א') יצאה משלחת סיוע מטעם צה"ל ומשרד הביטחון לקולומביה, בכדי לסייע לנפגעי האסון באזור. משלחת הסיוע כוללת כחמישים טון ציוד, מתוכם עשרים טון מזון יבש, אלפיים שמיכות, אלף שכמיות, אלף מזרונים, מאה אוהלים וחמשת אלפים ערכות רפואיות. מפקד יחידת החילוץ הארצית של פיקוד העורף, תת אלוף שלום בן אריה: "פיקוד העורף הונחה ע"י צה"ל להוציא משלחת סיוע הומניטארי לאסון בקולומביה. אנחנו נוחתים בקולומביה, מעבירים את הציוד וחוזרים רק לאחר שווידאנו שהמשימה הושלמה." סמנכ"ל משרד הביטחון, בצלאל טרייבר: " אחרי היערכות זריזה שנעשתה ביומיים האחרונים עם ציוד נרחב בהיקף של כחמישים טון, תצא המשלחת לקולומביה. אני מאחל הצלחה ותודה לצוות, לפיקוד העורף ולמשרד הביטחון." |
