Summary

Description
English: Salmon boats in False Pass were traditionally taken out of the water for winter storage on a steam-powered ways belonging to the P.E. Harris cannery. After the ways was shut down, fishermen in the fall brought their boats onto the land with the aid of a boat trailer. In this photo, one can see a whole range of boats on the beach, from functional to derelict. Now, there is a new small boat harbor in False Pass that can protect boats the year around.
