Summary

Description
English: False door and architrave of Ptahspepses. From the Tomb of Ptahshepses at Saqqara, Egypt. Old Kingdom, 5th Dynasty, 25th century BCE. British Museum, London. The hieroglyphic inscription states that pharaoh Neferirkare allowed Ptahshepses to kiss his foot; courtiers normally had to kiss the floor, as pharaohs were deemed half-divine. The architrave mentions the name of Osiris and Anubis.
