Description
English: U.S. Navy McDonnell F2H-2 Banshee jet fighters from Fighter Squadron 62 (VF-62) "Gladiators" in flight over Hungnam, North Korea, on 26 July 1953, the day before the Korean armistice took effect. VF-62 was assigned to Carrier Air Group 4 (CVG-4) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain (CVA-39) for a deployment to Korea and the Western Pacific from 26 April to 4 December 1953.
Hungnam's port area is below the left plane. In the upper left is the mouth of the Songchon River.
