DescriptionEx-Veracruz open car 19 in operation at Illinois Railway Museum 2017.jpg
Ex-Veracruz (Mexico) open streetcar 19 carrying a full load while in service at the Illinois Railway Museum in August 2017, during the museum's 27th Annual Vintage Transport Extravaganza. Car 19 was acquired by IRM in 2009 from the former Lake Shore Electric Railway (museum), which had acquired it as part of the former Trolleyville USA collection, in Ohio. The Veracruz streetcar system is known to have acquired 18 open-sided, single-truck cars new from J.G. Brill over the period 1908–1914, numbering them 1–18. The origin of car 19 is unknown. It may have been a 19th car or a renumbering of another car.
