  • Tarifa was taken by Castile in 1292 (O'Callaghan 2011, p. 101)
  • Algeciras was taken by Granada in 1312,(O'Callaghan 2011, p. 137) yielded to the Marinid Sultanate in 1328,(O'Callaghan 2011, p. 152) besieged by Castile in 1342 and occupied in 1344 (Harvey 1992, pp. 203-204)
  • Gibraltar was taken by the Marinids in 1333 (Harvey 1992, p. 188)
  • A naval battle in the Strait of Gibraltar ended in Marinid-Granadan victory in 8 April 1340 (O'Callaghan 2011, p. 171)
  • The battle of Rio Salado ended in Christian victory in 30 October 1340 (O'Callaghan 2011, p. 182)
  • Ceuta was taken by the Marinids in 1328, ending an independent Azafid rule. (Latham 1973, p.122)
