La mano significa esfuerzo, trabajo, dedicación y la rama empuñada en la mano es el trabajo de la agricultura. LOS COLORES: El color amarillo: Representa el trópico, calor humano. El color verde: Representa el campo, Santo Tomás es uno de los municipios mas verdes por sus naturaleza y campos. La banda roja: Representa la alegría, el jolgorío y festividades de nuestra tierra un llamativo del nativo de la Costa."
