Ebenezer Dorr (1739-1809) Philadelphia, 1800 Inscription on plate "Drawn & engrd. by St. Memin Philada:" No 271 NPG (D. 203): "Eb: Door. 1800.) CGA (folio 15): "Eb. Door." Added after "Eb" in another hand: "en" BN" "Door" Source of identification: Inscriptions; descendants. In 1775 Ebenezer Dorr, like Paul Revere (q.v.), rode from Boston to warn residents of Massachesetts about the advancing British army. After the Revolution, Dorr became a merchant in the China trade.
