This image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Divergence theorem 2 - volume partition.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.

Summary

Description
English: Diagram of an arbitrary volume partitioned into several parts, used in a proof of the Divergence theorem. It illustrates that the flux of a vector field out of the original volume is equal to the sum of the flux out of the component volumes. This is because the flux through the partitions (green surfaces) is positive for one volume but negative for the other, so it cancels out in the sum.
