Description IWM caption : THE BRITISH ARMY IN NORTH AFRICA 1942. A 6-pdr anti-tank gun and its crew in action in the Western Desert, 3 November 1942. While notionally an OQF 6-pdr, this weapon is actually a US 57mm M1 gun. This was the US-built copy of the 6-pdr for US forces' use, although over 4,000 were provided to the UK under Lend-Lease.
