English: Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced on May 13, 1996, that the President has nominated Vice Admiral J. Paul Reason, U.S. Navy, for appointment to the grade of admiral. It was also announced that his next assignment will be as Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet in Norfolk, Virginia. Vice Admiral Reason is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Plans, Policy and Operations, N3/N5, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in the Pentagon.
