Humanistic script. Agostino Barbarigo, Doge of Venice (Doge 1486 to 1501) (his arms, f. 2, and dedication to him, ff. 2, 3v ). Rev. Thomas Crofts (b. 1722, d. 1781) (his initials 'TC/E', centre of the inside upper cover): his sale, 7 April 1783 and forty-two following days, lot 8244, bought with lot 8243 by Wodhull for 12s 6d. Michael Wodhull (b. 1740, d. 1816), book collector and poet (erased inscription in his format and the date 'May 27th 1783', f. 1).

Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar.Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney's library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818. Central lettering on upper cover added later.
