English: Noella Roos currently lives in Bali, Indonesia. She works extensively with local, traditional dancers, for example Legong, Baris, and Oleg dancers (mostly from the Peliatan area), and their brilliantly-coloured costumes. However, Noella also works with modern Indonesian dancers where a great deal of new, experimental dance is emerging. She paints the dancers in her studio in Sanur. Last year Noella mainly worked with, and painted the beautiful dancer, Dayu Indah. During this period her paintings became more “colourful” due to her deliberate use of deeper, richer colour and tone.
