Description
English: The News Line Friday 15 July 2016 PAGE 3

WEDNESDAY 13th July 2016 was a national day of action against Personal Independence Payments (PIPs).

The Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) in Norwich demonstrated outside the PIP offices in central Norwich, which are now run by Atos and Capita. PIP is the replacement for Disability Living Allowance (DLA).

DPAC states that the DLA at least was aimed to provide the extra costs of being disabled and the system worked, whereas 'the PIP system is rotten to the core.'

Further, Atos and Capita are making a killing from conducting sham PIP assessments which are seeing thousands of legitimate claimants having their benefits refused, their incomes slashed and their motability cars removed.'

Marion Fallon told News Line, that the government admitted that their aim in bringing in PIP was to reduce the disabled budget by 20%. She said the bedroom tax also has predominantly hit disabled people.
