Object history
Deutsch: Eine Weinberghape, die liegend unter der Initiale W dargestellt wurde, galt schon 1686 als Marksteinzeichen der alten Marktgemeinde. Seit dem Jahre 1822 erscheint dieser Hinweis auf den damals noch blühenden Weinbau in aufgerichteter Stellung in den Gemeindesiegeln. Das am 3. September 1963 vom Innenministerium mit der Flagge verliehene Wappen enthält außer dem Fleckenzeichen noch einen Wellenbalken als „redende" Wappenfigur und eine Krone als Erinnerung an die Aufenthalte Kaiser Heinrich III. am 28. August 1046 und 3. Dezember 1048 in Winterbach.
