Entrance to UN Camp at Kophinou village manned by soldiers of 3rd Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment. Kophinou is at the junction of the B1 and the B5 roads roughly half way between Limassol and Larnaca. On 15 November 1967, Greek Cypriot National Guard under Grivas' direct command had overrun two small villages on the critical Larnaca, Limassol, Nicosia intersection, resulting in the deaths of 27 Turkish Cypriot people at Kofinou and Agios Theodoros.
