English: The U.S. Navy heavy cruiser USS Des Moines (CA-134) and the French light cruiser Montcalm operate together during "Operation Longstep", a NATO ten-day exercise in the Mediterranean Sea, in November 1952. 170 ships and 500 aircraft of the France, Greece, Italy, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States took part in the exercise.
