Description
Español: La obra representa a Jesucristo crucificado en el monte Calvario. Juan de Flandes concibe el espacio de esta Crucifixión con un punto de vista bajo, que evoca las composiciones de Mantegna y la dota de resonancias italianas, por el modo de disponer al los personajes con un dominio de líneas rectas que otorgan monumentalidad al conjunto. Para llamar la atención sobre Cristo Crucificado, situado en el centro, ante un fondo de paisaje, idea un semicírculo de figuras en torno a Él. A la originalidad del pintor flamenco al representar este tema iconográfico se suma su dominio técnico, patente en la forma de reproducir las calidades de las cosas como las piedras preciosas y el coral esparcidos por el suelo.
