Pole (p.248) mentions a manor named "Cristenstowe (nowe called Cristowe)" which equates to the modern w:Christow in the parish of Teignbridge. However he does not list a family named "de Cristenstow" as lords of the manor, which he states was a possession of Bec Abbey in Normandy, later of Cowick Priory. |
