Summary

Description
English: Arms of Cristenstow of Weycroft, Axminster, Devon: Azure, a bend (party per bend) indented or and ermine two cotises of the third (Pole, Sir William (d.1635), Collections Towards a Description of the County of Devon, Sir John-William de la Pole (ed.), London, 1791, p.479). Pole (p.248) mentions a manor named "Cristenstowe (nowe called Cristowe)" which equates to the modern w:Christow in the parish of Teignbridge. However he does not list a family named "de Cristenstow" as lords of the manor, which he states was a possession of Bec Abbey in Normandy, later of Cowick Priory.
