Object history Mittelbild des Engelaltars vor dem Lettner. Nach der Reformation 1541 und seiner damit verbundenen Flucht, musste Kardinal Albrecht die Hallenser Kirchenausstattung in seine Mainzer Residenz Aschaffenburg überführen. 1809 wurde die Tafel dem Freiburger Münster geschenkt, die zugehörigen Flügelpaare befinden sich noch in Aschaffenburg.
Inscriptions Das Bild ist mit Cranachs Signatur, der geflügelten Schlange, bezeichnet und datiert.
