Le bureau publiait des manuels, des cartes et un bulletin mensuel pour diffuser des informations relatives à la promotion du commerce entre les pays des Amériques. La carte montre les itinéraires des compagnies de navigation depuis les ports de Limon, de Puntarenas et de San Juan del Sur (au Nicaragua), les câbles télégraphiques sous-marins, les chemins de fer et le plan proposé d'un canal isthmique à travers le Nicaragua, plus tard abandonné en faveur d'un tracé à travers le Panama. La carte fut réalisée avant 1903, lorsque le Panama devint un pays indépendant, si bien qu'elle représente le Costa Rica comme bordant toujours la Colombie au sud. English: This map of Costa Rica was published by the International Bureau of the American Republics (instituted in 1910 as the Pan American Union), an agency established in 1890 in Washington D.C., by resolution of the International Conference of American States. The bureau published handbooks, maps, and a monthly bulletin for disseminating information relating to the promotion of trade among the countries of the Americas. The map shows the routes of steamship lines from the ports of Limon, Puntarenas, and San Juan del Sur (Nicaragua); undersea telegraph cables; railroads; and the proposed route of an isthmian canal across Nicaragua, later abandoned in favor of a route across Panama. The map was made before 1903, when Panama became an independent country, so it shows Costa Rica as still bordering on Colombia to its south. The map is held in the Columbus Memorial Library of the Organization of American States, successor organization of the International Bureau of the American Republics and the Pan American Union.

A secretaria publicou guias, mapas e um boletim mensal para disseminar as informações relacionadas com a promoção do comércio entre os países das Américas. O mapa mostra as rotas das linhas de navios a vapor dos portos de Limón, Puntarenas e San Juan del Sur (Nicarágua), cabos submarinos telegráficos, ferrovias e a rota proposta de um canal no istmo da Nicarágua, abandonada mais tarde em detrimento de uma rota através do Panamá. O mapa foi produzido antes de 1903, quando o Panamá se tornou um país independente, de modo que exibe a Costa Rica ainda fazendo fronteira com a Colômbia ao sul.
