Description

A computer simulation of predator-prey dynamics in Kielder Forest (Northern UK), showing the disappearance of spatiotemporal oscillations following the removal of a large central obstacle that was generated target pattern waves. The central white area is Kielder water, a large reservoir. The colours indicate prey density (blue=low, red=high). This image is a follow-up to an image used in the article on periodic travelling waves, and could potentially be added to that article though I am not including it in the initial version of the article.

I ran computer programs and plotted the results myself.
