English: Clachnaharry Swing Bridge, Caledonian Canal A two-coach diesel unit heads out of Inverness for Kyle of Lochalsh and crosses the swing bridge over the Caledonian Canal. On the right is Clachnaharry signal box, whose main function nowadays is to ensure that the bridge is locked in position for the passage of trains. Visible above the signalman's parked car is the mast of a ship in Workshop Lock waiting for the bridge to be opened. |
