Summary

Description Panorama of Circular Quay from a ship's mast, 1903, by Melvin Vaniman, On the left can be seen the then new tram shed on Bennelong Point, which was replaced by the Opera House. Alongside are mail steamers including the Ventura, which brought Vaniman to Australia from Auckland. On the extreme right is the Australian Steamship Navigation Company's building, which still stands between Hickson Road and Circular Quay West, vintage platinum print, State Library of New South Wales, DL Pg 22 Paddle steamer ferry approaching Circular Quay is BRIGHTON (1883 - 1916). Other ferry steamer (right side of Quay, is either KURRABA or KIRRIBILLI).
