Introduced, warm-season, annual, decumbent or ascending, hairless or sparsely glandular herb to 1 m tall. Stems branch at the base. Leaves are oblong, lyrate, 1.5–8 cm long; lobes toothed, lower leaves petiolate, upper leaves sessile. Flowerheads are terminal in loose corymbs of heads. Heads are 5–8 mm wide and bell-shaped. Involucral bracts 12–14 in 1 row, cobwebby and becoming hairless. Ligulate ray and tubular disc florets are yellow. Flowering is in summer. A native of Africa, it is a weed in wheat-growing areas; recorded in the Rylstone district.
