DescriptionChicago Portage National Historic Site.png
English: This map shows the ancient course of the Des Plaines River, in blue, overlayed on the current course of that river. This ancient river is the river used by travelers during the roughly two thousand years of the portage's use. The map also shows the western end of the portage that is still preserved within the Chicago Portage National Historic Site.
