Used for purposes of illustration in an educational article about the subject in question. As heraldry is a visual medium, the reader's understanding of the subject matter is enhanced by an image representative of the topic itself. |

This is the only badge designed by the Canadian Heraldic Authority, protected by copyright and other restrictions including articles of the Paris Convention. A new, free artistic rendition of the badge might suffice for some purposes, but would fail to show the various features in the official rendition.
